Gallaudet U. to Admit Students With No Hearing Impairments
Gallaudet University, the world's only liberal-arts institution for the deaf and hard of hearing, will begin admitting hearing students into its undergraduate programs next spring.
The decision is not so much a device to increase enrollment as it is a way of accommodating hearing students who have deaf parents, spouses, or friends. College officials say they plan to keep the program low-key, with no recruitment or advertising aimed at hearing
