GRE Volume Bounces Back in Recession-Related Rise
The number of people taking Graduate Record Examinations, after a dip late last year, is on its way back up, in a trend that once more follows the typical effects of a recession.
Historically, people enter graduate school to avoid a dismal job market. But as the recession took firm hold last year, GRE volume decreased. The Education Testing Service gave about 617,000 tests by the end of 2008, down from a high of 633,000 in 2007.
