GAO Report Suggests Redefining Colleges
Replacing the Higher Education Act's two definitions of an institution of higher education with a single one that includes for-profit colleges would be unlikely to increase federal spending in the short run, but would allow those institutions to compete for nearly $2-billion in federal aid not previously available to them, according to a report released this month by the Government Accountability Office.
