Future Budgets of the NEH

I was surprised to read Ron Southwick's article on the latest round of grants to the regional humanities centers from the National Endowment for the Humanities ("Regional Humanities Centers Face a Shaky Future," March 22). Mr. Southwick focuses on the disappointment of the grantees that their grants were so much smaller than previously announced, and at the news that there would be no future NEH funding for the centers.
