Free Visits Helped Draw Black Students to U. of Texas Law School
Free trips to Austin helped double the number of black applicants expected to enter the University of Texas School of Law this fall.
Nine of the 18 prospective students who accepted airplane tickets to visit the school last spring now plan to enroll. That helped lift the number of black students who are expected to be in the first-year class from seven last year to 14 this year.
