Fort Lewis College May Be Dropped From Colorado University System
Fort Lewis College, in Colorado, may experience Independence Day early this summer -- but college officials won't be celebrating.
Legislation was introduced in the state's House of Representatives last week to remove the liberal-arts college, founded in 1911, from the Colorado State University system, where it's been since 1984.
The move follows a separate bill that would transform the University of Southern Colorado into Colorado State University at Pueblo.
