Former Professor at Georgia Wins $453,460 in Tenure Suit
A federal jury awarded a former University of Georgia professor $453,460 in back pay last month in a gender-discrimination lawsuit.
Linda B. Brooks sued in 1998, asserting that in 1993 the university failed to grant her tenure or to renew her contract as a professor of comparative literature, while awarding tenure to three similarly qualified men in the department.
