Former Professor Wins Wrongful-Termination Suit Against Mount Marty College
A South Dakota jury last month awarded $165,000 to a former professor at Mount Marty College after deciding that he had been wrongfully terminated.
The award went to Jerry W. Wilson, a tenured professor of English and journalism whom Mount Marty fired in 1998, after he criticized the leadership style of its president, Mark Hurtubise, calling him a "tyrant."
Mr. Wilson, now an editor at South Dakota Magazine, had sought reinstatement. But the jury only
