Former Fresno State Coach Accepts Reduced Award in Sex-Discrimination Case

A former women's basketball coach at California State University at Fresno who sued the university for sex discrimination will accept a reduced award of $6.6-million, her lawyer said on Wednesday.

A jury had awarded the former coach, Stacy Johnson-Klein, a record $19.1-million in December after an eight-week trial, but last week the judge who presided over the trial, Donald S. Black of the State Superior Court in Fresno County, reduced the amount. He gave Ms. Johnson-Klein
