Former Florida Fund Raiser Pleads 'No Contest' to Theft
A former chief financial officer of the University of Florida Foundation has pleaded no contest to embezzling $850,000 from foundation accounts.
Kenneth E. Hillier, 57, who agreed last week to waive his right to a trial, could face eight years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced next month in a state court.
State prosecutors had charged Mr. Hillier with exploiting loopholes in the foundation's accounting procedures, which he had developed. He had reprinted five checks
