Ford Makes Gift to Mich. Arts College
The only granddaughter of Henry Ford, founder of the Ford Motor Company, has bequeathed $50-million to the College for Creative Studies. Officials of the Michigan institution describe it as the largest gift ever made to a private arts college in the United States.
The bequest from Josephine Ford, who died in May, is the largest to any private institution in Michigan, officials said.
The College for Creative Studies is recognized for its transportation-design program.
