For Sale: a Presidential Residence
Barry University is looking to sell its president's house, a 1930 Moorish-style residence that gained short-lived fame in 2000, when it served as a meeting place for little Elián Gonzalez and his grandmothers before the boy was returned to Cuba.
Sister Jeanne O'Laughlin, president of the Roman Catholic institution, says she hopes to use the proceeds of the sale for a new building to house the university's physician's-assistant and podiatric-medicine programs.
