For-Profit Colleges Pull Out of Higher-Education Group
The Career College Association -- the major lobbying group for for-profit colleges -- has withdrawn from the American Council on Education, citing an inability to agree on key goals for the coming reauthorization of the Higher Education Act.
The association represents 950 for-profit and career-related institutions, many of which confer degrees, including the University of Phoenix and Corinthian Colleges.
