For First Time in 30 Years, Carnegie Awards Grants for Individual Scholarship
The Carnegie Corporation has chosen 12 scholars to receive research grants of up to $100,000 each, the first time in 30 years that the foundation is supporting individual scholarship.
The new Carnegie Scholars program is the handiwork of Vartan Gregorian, the former Brown University president who assumed leadership of the foundation in 1997 and moved to sharpen its focus on higher education.
