Food for the Body as Well as the Mind
To the Editor:
I am thrilled to see Andrea L. Foster's "Snacks in the Stacks: Libraries Welcome Food Amid the Books" (The Chronicle, April 18). I have been a proponent of this for years.
I don't know of anyone who sits at home on a hard wood chair with books on the table and no food or beverage in sight. We all curl up with our favorites, both books and snacks. So why do we pretend that we are saving the collection by banning such actions in the library? And many technical and
