Following Title IX Probe, UCLA Reinstates Women's Rowing as Varsity Sport
The University of California at Los Angeles will reinstate women's rowing as a varsity sport next fall in response to a gender-equity investigation by the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights.
The decision ends a two-year investigation by the civil-rights office into the institution's athletics program and its treatment of women. The crew returns to varsity status after 10 years of club competition.
