Florida Regents Endorse 3 Categories for Public Universities

Ending a debate that had become racially divisive, the Florida Board of Regents last week unanimously approved new mission designations for the state's 10 public universities, including a special status for Florida's only historically black institution.

With the aim of creating distinct identities and making campuses accountable for specific goals, the 10 universities will be divided into three categories,
