Florida Regents Adopt Plan to End Racial Preferences in Admissions
After postponing a vote twice in the last three months, the Board of Regents of Florida's public-university system last week adopted Gov. Jeb Bush's controversial plan to end affirmative action in undergraduate admissions on the campuses.
The board approved the plan after an emotional six-hour public hearing during which opponents of the plan called for the decision to be delayed. The rule change also has to be approved by the state Cabinet, which was expected
