Florida Lawmakers Consider Bill to Add 11th Institution to University System
GIST: State Sen. Donald C. Sullivan, a Republican, has introduced a bill that would give independence to New College of the University of South Florida, making the college a stand-alone institution in the university system. Mr. Sullivan wants the college to be the first in a new "middle tier" of institutions in the state system, between universities and community colleges.
