Florida A&M University's Interim President Resigns

Castell Vaughn Bryant, the interim president of Florida A&M University, submitted her resignation on Friday, The Tallahassee Democrat reported. Her resignation is effective at the end of the month, just weeks before a new president, James Ammons, takes over the historically black college that has had longstanding financial and management problems.

This past week, the university’s Faculty Senate released a statement urging that Ms. Bryant be replaced and calling for the state’s Board of Governors to reverse all of her decisions since January. —Jeffrey Selingo
