'Flawed Research' on Admissions Reform

Regarding your article on theoretical alternatives to race-based college admissions, permit me to correct the record on the nature and quality of the "striver" research in which Anthony P. Carnevale was engaged while at the Educational Testing Service in the late 1990s, and on why that research failed to produce any sound results that could inform public policy ("ETS Accused of Squelching New Approach on Racial Bias," The Chronicle, November 10).
