Flag Ban in Mississippi Withstands Challenge
For the second time in 10 months, the U.S. Supreme Court has declined to take up a challenge to the University of Mississippi's ban on stick-mounted flags at home football games.
The university banned flags mounted on sticks from athletics events in 1997, after its football coach said the longstanding tradition of waving Confederate battle flags at football games was insulting to black players and students.
