Finding Racism Where You Least Expect It
I was glancing at our student newspaper when an editorial welcoming the new director of our multicultural center caught my eye. The "welcome" emphasized two points: First, that, fortunately, we had few serious problems with discrimination on our campus; and, second, that the new director should, therefore, concentrate on encouraging those in the various student unions to mix with the entire university population so that we can all gain the benefits of diversity.
