Fighting Grade Inflation

As someone who was a professor of educational psychology for 16 years, with a specialization in tests and measurement, I read with great interest the May 8 Point of View essay "Inflation Isn't the Only Thing Wrong With Grading," by Lee Clark Mitchell. His points are very insightful.
I have studied the grading practices of professors on many campuses and have been repeatedly shocked and
