Fewer Women Accept Harvard Faculty Posts
While the proportion of tenure-track faculty job offers Harvard University made to women continued to increase in the 2005-6 academic year, the percentage of offers accepted by women dropped drastically.
Thirty-nine percent of the tenure-track offers Harvard made last year went to women, the highest proportion in the last six years. But only about 20 percent of those who ultimately accepted jobs were female. In 2004-5, by comparison, 40 percent of those who accepted tenure-track jobs
