Feral Cats Not Really Wild
To the Editor:
All life is not valued or respected if domestic companion animals are condemned to live and die outdoors, and native wildlife struggles to survive in the presence of these cats ("The Cat People," The Chronicle, September 28). … Trap, neuter, release has not been proved to reduce the number of feral cats. Neighborhood cats find the food, and irresponsible owners dump their cats into colonies. …
Feral cats are not wildlife; their home is not outdoors.
