Felon Had Access to TIAA-CREF Data

A background check of a former contract employee of TIAA-CREF who had access to its customer information failed to uncover that, during the same month that she began working at the pension fund, she was convicted and sentenced to prison for her role in a $200-million insurance scam, according a report in the April 25 issue of Newsweek magazine.
