Feeble Spending by Federal Agencies Enervates Energy Research

The fight against the trend toward global warming is being hobbled, in part, by a lack of funds for energy research, and one area of declining spending on such studies is the federal government, according to a front-page article in today’s New York Times. Annual federal support for energy research and development is less than half of what it was in 1979, the article says.
