Federal Research Money Rebounds, and George Washington U. Grabs a Chunk
George Washington University is moving up in the research world.
The university collected more than $119-million in federal research-and-development money in the fiscal year that ended last October, up from $87.6-million in the 2007 fiscal year, the National Science Foundation said in a report this month. That pushed the university up 23 spots to 85th place in the NSF's nationwide rankings, the largest single-year shift by any institution.
