Federal Regulators Call on 2 Universities to Halt Studies Using Prisoners
Health studies that use prisoners as subjects have come under scrutiny from the federal government, which recently demanded that two universities halt research projects that U.S. officials said lacked proper oversight. The officials are also concerned that researchers at other universities too often failed until recently to report such studies for federal review.
