Federal Jury Orders U. of Colorado to Pay $600,000 to a Former Professor
A federal jury in Denver has awarded $600,000 to a former University of Colorado psychiatry professor who said that he had been "illegally fired" by the chancellor of the university's Health Sciences Center.
The professor, Gordon L. Neligh, served as a faculty member at the center's medical school and as director of its public psychiatry programs from 1987 to 1998, when the university did not renew his annual contract.
