Federal Judge Rejects Challenge by Adidas to the NCAA's Rules on Logos
The National Collegiate Athletic Association has won the first round of its legal battle with Adidas America, Inc. A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed the company's lawsuit, which accused the association of violating federal antitrust laws by restricting the size of manufacturers' logos on team uniforms.
The N.C.A.A.'s rules require such logos to be 2 1/4 inches square or smaller. Adidas often places three parallel stripes down the side of shorts and jerseys,
