Federal Judge Narrows Scope of Affirmative-Action Suit Against U. of Washington
A federal judge last week narrowed the scope of an affirmative-action lawsuit against the University of Washington's law school, ruling that the state's voter-approved ban on racial preferences had made much of the case moot.
But the judge agreed to consider whether the university's now-abandoned admissions policy illegally discriminated against three white applicants, so the case still has significant
