Federal Judge Bars NCAA From Using Eligibility Rule Based on Test Scores

Ruling says association's reliance on standardized examinations is racially discriminatory

A federal judge last week struck down the National Collegiate Athletic Association's freshman-eligibility standards as racially discriminatory, potentially throwing into chaos the process by which the association's member colleges recruit athletes.
