Federal Court Says U. of Texas May Block Messages From Dating Service
The University of Texas at Austin can block from its network a flood of unsolicited messages from an online dating service, according to a ruling issued last month by a federal judge.
Judge Sam Sparks, of the Austin division of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, ruled that the university did not violate the constitutional rights of LonghornSingles.com when it filtered out about 55,000 e-mail messages promoting the service last spring.
