Federal Appeals Court Upholds Denial of DNA Patent
Academics and others worried that the proliferation of gene patents could inhibit scientific research received comforting news last month from a federal appeals court.
The court upheld the denial of a patent on a DNA sequence in corn genes to two scientists working for a division of the Monsanto Company.
