Federal Appeals Court Forces Verizon to Identify 2 Alleged File-Sharers
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has refused to stay a federal judge's order requiring the telecommunications company Verizon to reveal the names of two subscribers who each allegedly offered copyrighted songs over the Internet. Verizon, which provides broadband Internet service, had fought a request for the names from the Recording Industry Association of America but identified the subscribers after the order.
