Fauci Is Likely Nominee to Helm of NIH
University researchers, who have been waiting for months for President Bush to appoint a permanent director for the National Institutes of Health, may soon see their patience rewarded.
Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy G. Thompson has recommended to President Bush the nomination of Anthony S. Fauci, currently director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, according to sources close to the process.
