Richard W. Copeland and Elizabeth A. Sastre's celebration on New Year's Day reached new heights this year. A height of 19,340 feet, to be precise, since the father-daughter professorial duo spent part of their winter break trekking to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Mr. Copeland, an associate professor of business at Stetson University, and Dr. Sastre, an assistant professor of internal medicine at Vanderbilt University, made it to the top of Africa's highest mountain on January 1,
