Fast Wireless Network Created for a Remote Inland Area
University of California researchers have built a wireless computer network that could become a model for bringing high-speed Internet access to some of the most rugged and remote regions of the country.
The network has been designed to provide fast Internet links to several tribal reservations and to research sites that are up to 35 miles away, as the crow flies, from the University of California at San Diego and San Diego State University. The three-year, $2.3-million research
