Lawrence M. Krauss would have us believe that reason and faith are polar opposites ("Reason, Unfettered by Faith," The Chronicle Review, January 12), and he criticizes Pope Benedict XVI for commenting on the 14th-century Byzantine emperor who cited Islam as an example of what happens when the two attributes are uncoupled.
