Faculty Vote at Southern Methodist U. Reflects Rift Over Bush Library
The Faculty Senate of Southern Methodist University came within a hair's breadth last week of passing a strongly worded resolution regarding the governance of a think tank that would be part of the prospective George W. Bush Presidential Library complex. But after what one observer described as the faculty's most emotional debate yet about the controversial center, the resolution failed on a tie vote of 13 to 13, with three abstentions.
