Faculty Union Issues Standards for Treatment of Adjuncts
The American Federation of Teachers has devised a set of standards for the treatment of part-time faculty members that it hopes will improve working conditions for those at the bottom of the academic ladder.
The union calls for an equitable pay scale, evaluation procedures for adjuncts, a seniority system for part-timers, and compensation for office hours.
