Professors at Evergreen State College, a public four-year institution in Washington State, have voted to form a union, officials announced on Tuesday. The new bargaining unit will be represented by the United Faculty of Washington State, an affiliate of both the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers. According to The Olympian, a local newspaper, the bargaining unit will include about 158 full-time professors and 63 adjunct professors. In the vote, 55 percent of the professors endorsed the union bid.
