Faculty Support of Unions for Graduate Students
To the Editor:
In the August 10 article on whether a faculty member at New York University had been denied tenure because of his support for a graduate-student union, the positive message that concludes the coverage is that tenured faculty members still have the freedom to provide such support ("A Promising Professor Backs a TA Union Drive and Is Rejected for Tenure"). I believe this misses a central point. The chickens that are coming home to roost in this struggle have been raised
