Faculty Strike Shuts Down Universities Across India

The leaders of India's largest faculty unions last week vowed to continue their weeks-long nationwide strike following the government's refusal to meet their salary demands. With 400,000 faculty members now on strike, classes at universities in New Delhi, the capital, and other major cities have ground to a halt.
