Faculty Strike Halts Classes at Community College in Illinois
Full-time faculty members at William Rainey Harper College went on strike early this month, forcing officials to cancel all credit courses.
Representatives of both the faculty union and the Board of Trustees of the community college, near Chicago, appear to be resolute, leaving the 14,500 for-credit students wondering whether they will be able to complete their courses for the semester. Continuing-education courses are still being held.
