Faculty Strike Ends at C.W. Post Campus of Long Island U.
Professors and administrators at Long Island University's C.W. Post campus have reached a contract agreement, ending a strike that began on September 8 and affected about 25 percent of classes.
The two sides struck a compromise on the three-year contract late last month and the faculty members later ratified the agreement. When the walkout began, the strikers were demanding higher wages, better health-care benefits, and workload changes. The new contract provides for a 3-percent raise
