Facilities: Construction Prices Will Get Higher Yet

Managers of colleges' facilities and budgets trembled at the costs of construction on campus last year, as high prices for standard materials, like steel and cement, drove the total price of building projects through the proverbial roof.

This year, administrators can expect more of the same. Industry experts predict that the construction industry will have an inflation rate of about 10 percent.
