FSU Moves to Return Gift for Building

The dispute between Florida State University and a star professor there who wants to donate tens of millions of dollars for a new chemistry building took an unexpected turn this month when the university abruptly announced that it was returning $11-million that the professor, Robert A. Holton, had raised for the building through his foundation.

Mr. Holton's organization, the MDS Research Foundation, however, said it was not prepared to take the money back and would still like to work
